Come join us for our PJHS Student Showcase Night!

We are so proud of our terrific Students of the Week: Darbi Stanley, Spencer Brown, Katelynn Williford, and Lydia Maddox.

Mrs. Rachel Waters' Enhanced Algebra students worked together to match time and distance graphs with the appropriate situations and tables. This allowed them to then talk about constant and variable rates of change.

Much fun was made today at PJHS at the first Pep Rally of the school year! Students and staff had a blast! Our cheerleaders did an amazing job getting everyone in the spirit as did our fabulous band! Our athletic teams were cheered for, our Sources of Strength students gave a great presentation, and some teachers sure did show their spirit out there! Coach Dannenfelser did an amazing job as MC and teachers Torie Sutton and Lauryn Kilchriste showed off their rapping skills! Grade 8 won the "Spirit Stick" and we will keep this tradition going!

7th and 8th graders collaboration art for Constitution Day at Station 10 on Main Street in Jasper! Check out their amazing work all throughout next week!

The month of September is Suicide Prevention Month. Our Sources of Strength students participated in an event outside the lunchroom where resources were given out. They reminded students that they're not alone and trusted adults are here to help!

Thank you, Jasper Fitness, for sponsoring the PJHS Tutoring Program by purchasing snacks for the students!

Important Reminder Regarding the Free & Reduced Meal Program
The carryover in benefits from last year’s Free & Reduced Meal Program will end September 13, 2024. After this date the student will return to full pay status unless a new application is submitted to re-establish the student's eligibility before the end of the carryover period.
For households that meet the income requirements we encourage you to submit a new free and reduced application now.

What a great group of football players, cheerleaders, band members, and administrators! #PJPRIDE

Mrs. Petti had fun reading to a great bunch of students for "We-Read Wednesday"!

Mrs. Klein's social studies class learns how both parties benefit from free trade while they bring the abstract concepts of international trade to life in this fun and delicious CandyLand Economics game.

Make sure to visit Buffalo Luke's on Tuesday, September 10, from 3:00-9:00 to support PJHS!

Congratulations to Joanie Adams, Pickens Junior High School Staff Member of the month of August! Joanie's commitment and dedication to the staff and students is remarkable!

Congratulations to Kristin Deering, Pickens Junior High School Teacher of the Month of August! Mrs. Deering is always more than willing to go above and beyond to help anywhere in the school, no matter the task. We are so lucky to have her!

Please see the attached invitation to our first School Advisory Council Meeting. This meeting is open to all parents.

Mrs. Tolar's awesome 7th grade drama students came up with scenarios using the five W's (who, what, where, when, and why). In groups of four, each group wrote a short script using a plot diagram from Language Arts and performed their skits for their classmates. Pictured is one of the performing groups.

After School Tutoring begins Tuesday, September 3rd!

More of the fabulous Bioglyphs from Mrs. Norton's class! They created these to represent themselves and completed a supportive writing. Great job, class!
