Okra! Fresh from the Hill City garden! The students in Mrs. Chapman's Agriculture class decorated bags, sorted and bagged the okra, and delivered them to our Community Food Sharing Box at the front of our school. Please enjoy it!

Families of kindergarten students: Please join us for Curriculum Night tomorrow at 6:00 p.m. in the gym. We hope to see you there!

Here are some important things for families to know who plan to utilize our early morning care service starting tomorrow at 7:00 am.
Early Morning Care (7:00-7:19) parking and sign-in will be in our side visitor lot. Please park in the visitor lot and walk your child to the side door. We will have staff outside tomorrow to direct you. You must exit your car and sign your child in if you are utilizing our early care service. To continue to improve traffic flow and efficiency, we will not allow parking in our car rider lane during early drop-off.
Parents who wish to continue to use our regular car drop-off (7:20-8:00) will continue to use the front of the school for this; just as we have a past two weeks.
Thank you for everyone’s patience and grace as we continue to improve our traffic flow and drop-off procedures.

Always look both ways! Thank you to our bus drivers for teaching our PreK, kindergarten, and first graders important bus safety rules! We appreciate your expertise and caring hearts.

In an effort to keep improving the flow of traffic across our district, beginning Monday, August 12th students at Hill City Elementary School may be dropped off as early as 7:00 a.m. Students must be walked in and signed in. We will continue to have staff on duty at the front curb for car rider drop off beginning at 7:20 a.m. Thank you for your continued support and patience.

Congratulations, Mrs. Mosley! The Hawk was passed to her! Mrs. Georgia and Mr. Billy wanted to recognize her outstanding talent of making students feel welcome in her classroom. "She meets students where they are, and always makes sure they have what they need," explained Mrs. Georgia.

Hill City Elementary is now a Leader in Me school! Using Mr. Covey's 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, we are beginning a 3-year program rollout to empower our students, families, and school community to embrace ownership in their educational and life journey.
Mrs. Moss’s 3rd-grade students participated in their first Leader In Me lesson. Habit #1 is to be “Be Proactive." Students practiced being proactive by greeting and interacting with others. Greeting others shows leadership. Greetings can also look different depending on how well you know someone.

Please join us for your child's grade level Curriculum Night. Each night we'll meet in the gym at 6:00 p.m. to share this year's curriculum and year-end academic goals. We hope to see you there!

Morning Car Rider Drop Off Update: All elementary schools and the middle school will begin unloading cars at 7:20 a.m. tomorrow. We hope this will help ease some of the traffic congestion and better serve our families. Thank you for your continued patience.

All of our Hawks are back "on the Hill" today! Here's a snippet of the fun and the sharing of expectations for the new school year.

Afternoon car rider reminders! Please be patient as students get into the dismissal habit! Thank you for helping keep all of our students safe.

Please help us keep all of our Hawks safe by following our morning drop-off procedures. Remember, we only enter the school with a right hand turn off of Pleasant Hill Road.

First day smiles for PreK, kindergarten, and first grade students! It's going to be a great year for our Hill City Hawks!
