Twelve students have been chosen to serve this year on the first Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council for Pickens County Schools. Two students each from 7th-12th grade will meet with Dr. Thomas three times throughout the school year to discuss issues related to our schools, as well as ways to make our district better.
Over 70 students applied to serve on this council by completing an application. Interested students discussed the biggest challenges facing students today and shared their personal skills and talents which would make them a valuable member on the council. “When we listen to our students, we empower them to shape their own learning experiences, fostering a community where every voice matters,” said Dr. Travis Thomas.
Listed below are the twelve students who will serve this year on the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council. The first meeting is scheduled for Friday, October 18th at 8:30 at Pickens High School. Congratulations!
