Curriculum

Responsibilities of the Teaching and Learning Department include:

  • Maintain and revise the Pre-K–12 curriculum to ensure alignment with Georgia Standards of Excellence and Georgia Performance Standards in the following areas:

    • Career and Technical Education

    • Fine Arts

    • Health and Physical Education

    • Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)

  • Provide direct support for instructional services and a differentiated curriculum that meet the needs of students through:

    • Learning Support Services

    • Pre-Kindergarten Programs

  • Provide the leadership and support for the development of blended learning environments through:

    • Instructional Technology

    • Media Services

    • Virtual Learning

  • Provide leadership for the implementation of standards-based grading and reporting.

  • Support the design and delivery of professional learning that ensures proper integration of curriculum and research-based instructional strategies implementation across all schools.

  • Facilitate communication with employee organizations, parents, community groups, and institutions of higher education regarding curriculum, instruction, and assessment.

  • Maintain strong partnerships with all central offices and departments, learning communities, and schools to ensure consistent delivery of curriculum and instructional programs.
