Due to expected weather conditions, Pickens County Schools and the District Office will be closed on Friday, January 10th. All extra-curricular activities are also canceled both Friday, January 10th and Saturday, January 11th.
PCSD tragically lost one if its students last week. We would like to extend our sincerest condolences to the student’s family and to all of those affected by the loss. Pickens Junior High School's 8th grader studentAbby Benton has overcome obstacles in order to achieve academically. Abby has high marks in all of her classes because of her determination to succeed. Her Skills for Adolescents teacher, Claire Eubanks, said of Abby, "she is very focused and when she puts her mind on something, she is determined to complete the task at hand".
Winter is here and PCSD would like to remind everyone of our inclement weather procedures. PCSD's staff spotlight for January is Elvia Towers. Mrs. Towers is a dedicated ESOL teacher who works with students at Hill City Elementary and Jasper Middle Schools. Mrs. Towers is passionate about supporting her students and parents, as well as bridging cultural gaps within the school community.

Liam Knoll, a third-grader at Hill City Elementary, noticed a messy school bathroom and took it upon himself to clean it up — all without being asked! It’s not every day that someone volunteers for a task like this, but Liam saw a need and stepped up to help. #pcsdgrowingkindness
