Just a reminder to make sure your children are up-to-date on their vaccines before sending them back to school. Unless a medical or religious exemption is on file, an updated Georgia Immunization Certificate (Form 3231) must be provided. Please note that rising 7th-grade students need a pertussis (whooping cough) booster (called "Tdap") and an adolescent meningococcal (MCV4) and rising 11th-grade students need a meningococcal booster (MCV4).

The Pickens County School District will have, on display, a copy of the new science, social studies, and mathematics textbooks proposed for adoption. The material will be available Monday, June 10th through Wednesday, June 12th at the Pickens County Board of Education Office (100 B D Carroll Street) from 8:00 until 4:00.

May 23rd marks the last day of classes for all Pickens County School District students. We hope our students, staff, and families have a wonderful summer break and we look forward to seeing you all return in August.
Lunch meals will be offered free to children 18 and under this summer through PCSD's Nutrition Department via PJHS at the kitchen door entrance from 11:30 to 12:00 or PHS Fieldhouse in the parking lot from 11:00 to 11:30. Please see our website for more details.
We all know that our school attendance is a powerful predictor of student outcomes. That is why PCSD wants to congratulate Harmony Elementary for having the Best Student Attendance for the month of April.
Speech Pathologist Day serves as a day to raise awareness about communication disorders. Speech-language-hearing pathologists provide life-changing services for many children affected by these disorders and advocate to ensure the student has what they need to be successful.
